Why this one
A blindfold, something soft, something warm, and no idea what is coming next. Take away sight and everything else amplifies, without a single thing entering anybody. If you are unsure where to begin, or if one of you is more hesitant than the other, begin here.
What to look for
- A blindfold that blocks the light completely and still sits comfortably. Anything that lets a chink in also lets the head stay busy.
- Two or three genuinely different textures — feather, silk, something with a little bite to it.
- A massage candle burns cool and becomes oil. An ordinary candle does not; it burns.
Before you buy
Say out loud beforehand what is not happening tonight. The point of a blindfold is that surprise is welcome — and surprise is only welcome inside a boundary you both drew.
